EDU7070   Development, Learning and the Curriculum   (30 credits)

Description

This module focuses on understanding how children learn, the nature of curriculum, and the relationship between official policy on curriculum and understandings about children's learning. Students will address the following: child development; curriculum development; learning in the earliest years; learning in group settings; national policies on curriculum and learning; teaching in early education; meeting the needs of individual children; theories of learning; assessment and children's learning; parental roles in children's learning; curriculum development.
